The Exchange defines Diversity as being inclusive. Charter

Under the guidance of the Chief Operating Office, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will develop and manage global diversity programs to enrich relations with associates, customers and suppliers, to ensure The Exchange becomes and remains the first choice for shopping and working.

Staff

Herbertina “Tina” Johnson serves as the Chief Diversity Officer for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (The Exchange) in Dallas, TX. In her position, she directs the development and promotion of global diversity in alignment with corporate goals and strategies. Jeanne McDonald

Ms. Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Va. She also has a Masters Degree in Human Relations from University of Oklahoma and recently earned the Cornell Certified Diversity Professional / Advanced Practitioner, (CCDP/AP) from Cornell University ILR School in New York.

Ms. Johnson joined The Exchange while working in Okinawa for the Marine Corps MWR.  Her first assignment with The Exchange was in Mainland Japan at Camp Zama Exchange. Since joining The Exchange, she has been assigned to locations in Ft. Buchanan, Puerto, Rico, The Exchange Headquarters, Dallas Texas, Maxwell AFB, Montgomery ALA, and Spangdahlem, Germany as the Human Resource Manager.  Prior to her current position in Diversity, she served as EEO Counseling / Affirmative Employment Manager in the HQs EEO Directorate.

Ms. Johnson is a member of the Texas Diversity Council and serves as a member on the advisory board, the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Southwest and a diversity professional member of the NMSDC Working Group.

Robert J. Smith Jr. serves as the Workforce Diversity Manager for the Army Air Force Exchange Service (The Exchange) in Dallas, TX.  In his position he works with the Exchange Special Emphasis Program Managers to coordinate, develop and promote Special Emphasis Program Events and initiatives.  He also collaborates with Program Managers to promote the recruitment and development and analyze the inclusiveness of the workforce by position and professional development and recommend improvements.Robert Smith Jr.

Mr. Smith is a retired Navy veteran with over 20 years of military service.  His final assignment before joining the Exchange was the Chief Administrator / Human Resource Manager for Navy Recruiting District Dallas.  During this tour, he supervised an office of 5 personnel,  provided exceptional  management and logistical support to more than 300 military personnel covering North Texas and the state of Oklahoma, servicing 52 recruiting stations and 3 Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS).

Mr. Smith retired from the Navy in June of 2007 and joined the Exchange in July of 2007 where he was the Administrative Supervisor for the newly formed Planning Allocation and Replenishment directorate.  He was then promoted to the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Staff in the Command Group and was also the worldwide Exchange Congressional Liaison where he was trusted with the overall monitoring and analyzing of Congressional Inquiries.

Mr. Smith is a member of the Texas Diversity Council and also a member of his local Chamber of Commerce and is committed to bringing awareness on Diversity and Inclusion within the workforce. [ CONTACT R. SMITH Jr. ]

Sandra Wicker serves as the Supplier Diversity Manager at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (The Exchange) headquarters in Dallas, TX.  She is responsible for soliciting procurement opportunities for goods, services and construction.Sandra Wicker

Ms. Wicker earned her Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and MBA from Dallas Baptist University.

Ms. Wicker started her career at The Exchange as an EDI Business Analyst, later transferring to Information Technology to support the warehouse management and supply chain systems.  She has served as the Worldwide Federal Women’s Program Manager.  Prior to The Exchange, Ms. Wicker owned an IT consulting business with clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.  She is very active in the community and several ministries.

Ms. Wicker is committed to developing B2B partnerships to increase spending with minority, women and veteran owned businesses, as well as community outreach.  Current affiliations include local Chambers of Commerce, DFW Small Business Liaison Officer Council, Women’s Business Council Southwest and National Minority Supplier Development Council.
