The Barksdale Exchange is comprised of both Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana and Red River Army Depot in Texas. Team Barksdale provides decisive nuclear deterrence and conventional firepower to Combatant Commanders, for Global Strike operations, Anytime, Anywhere! Red River Army Depot sustains the Joint Warfighter's combat power by providing ground combat and tactical systems sustainment maintenance operations. The home of the Mighty Deuce, is also home to several command headquarters including Air Force Global Strike Command, 8th Air Force, 2nd Bomb Wing Headquarters and Air Force Reserves 307th Bomb Wing Headquarters. While the missions may be different in scope, both installations focus on providing and caring for the Strikers and Warfighters both at home and abroad. The Exchange is fully integrated into that mission, and is demonstrated nowhere else as clearly as The Barksdale Exchange. The Team works hand in hand to support the Airmen, Soldiers and their families in the ArkLaTex.

Occupying over 30,000 acres of land, 264 natural gas wells, 4 lakes, 11 ponds, 2,000 wetland acres and 18 miles of bayous/streams, Barksdale AFB has an economic impact in Northwest Louisiana and the ArkLaTex of over $812 million. It is the areas single, largest employer of civilians contributing over $133 million to the local community. The Exchange currently employs 164 civilians, military dependents and military members, which include veterans, retirees, reservists and active duty members. The employees have always taken pride in providing the best customer service possible.

Barksdale's Main BX is located at 455 Curtiss Road. Your one stop shopping facility is open seven days a week under a central mall theme for shoppers' convenience. Departments include clothing, shoes, linens, housewares, furniture, large appliances, electronics, sporting goods, health & beauty, jewelry, cosmetics, pet supplies, stationary, toys, hardware and lawn & garden. Food Court options include Charley's Steakery, Starbucks, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Qdoba, and Subway. Also included in the mall area are the barber shop, laundry/dry cleaners, optical shop and U.S. Patriot Tactical. The Base Refill Pharmacy is also located at the Main BX and offers a drive-thru as well as walk in access. A satellite US Post Office is located inside the BX for your convenience. The Military Clothing Store is located in the Main BX Mall, Bldg. 4711. Service members have no problem replacing a uniform item, as the MCS is located adjacent to the dormatories.

The Express is located at 200 Wilbur Wright Road. The facility includes a Class Six and Firestone Complete Car Care. The Express has 16 gasoline pumps equipped with island credit readers for customer convenience. The facility offers an expanded assortment of grab & go food options, to include Hunt Brothers Pizza, Eddie Peppers/Chopz and Hot Stuff Kitchen.

Eight miles from the Main Base is the Capehart Express on the East Side Reservation. The facility has four gasoline pumps. For the avid fisherman live bait is available for fishing at one of the many lakes on base.

The Barksdale AFB Exchange earnings for 2021 was $322,129. These earnings are returned to the base which uses the money to improve the quality of life services.
